The plain table, and deliberately in the collection. Four tapered legs, a clean square edge, no bent rings and no crossed lyres. Where a room already carries a strong floor, a strong light or strong chairs, a table that argues with them is the wrong table.
1600 by 900 mm seats six — two a side, one at each end — in a footprint an ordinary dining room can hold with its clearances intact.
The interest sits in the material rather than the shape: solid ash, walnut finish, the open grain left legible beneath the polish so the surface moves with the light through the day. Held in stock, and redrawn to size.
Questions
Can Ford be made to another size?
The proportions hold between about 1400 and 2200 mm. Beyond that the leg taper is redrawn so the table does not look under-supported.
